New Florida redistricting plans would greatly benefit Republicans in Congress and might hurt Black voters’ chances at electing candidates of their choice.
Joe Biden would’ve won 12 of 28 congressional districts, while Andrew Gillum and Bill Nelson would’ve won 14 seats. Hillary Clinton would’ve won a majority of the seats.
Since the presidential election, Democrats have about 14,000 fewer voters, Republicans have 12,000 fewer voters, minor parties have an extra 900 voters and there are about 650 fewer independent voters.
