Republican Jacksonville City Councilman Rory Diamond easily won re-election for District 13, beating back a nominal write-in campaign from Mike Finn, a Democrat, after no other candidates qualified for the ballot.

Diamond, a judge advocate general officer with the Florida National Guard and the U.S. Army, first won the Beaches seat unopposed four years ago.

Last year, he stepped down as the CEO of the K9s for Warriors nonprofit last year to accept a commission as an Army officer.
